About the Artist

Passion for art and beautiful things around me drives my life forward. I believe that one of the main reasons I'm here is to witness these moments of wonder and recognize the essence of their at times concealed brilliance.

My art education began when I was a child. Growing up surrounded by countless peculiar creations of my grandfather who was a self-taught artist, my sister's constant fashion experiments during the Soviet Era, followed by an art school when I was 12 years old. It was only natural for me to go on my own artistic ventures as soon as I was able to see that there is more to life than what Post-Soviet Ukraine was offering.

It was my first year in an art college in Ukraine. Country’s independence was still a relatively new phenomenon. Freedom of speech and most importantly the voice of the new generation that was now brought up with a newfound feeling of being unrestraint had finally begun to emerge.

Since early childhood I’d always thought of myself as a visual artist, the urge to write when I turned fifteen was as unforeseen and all-consuming as a tsunami wave. In a place where everyone was told to stay quiet and keep their thoughts to themselves for so long, my generation had finally got a chance to speak up.

The past ten years I have been submerged in theatre arts, mostly in the role of a costume designer. With storytelling as this art form’s foundation, I have discovered a new world, where the power of stories can not only influence us on an individual level but also bring whole communities together.

I believe that life's greatest gift is the ability to explore. My quest for deeper understanding of the surrounding world by delving into new mediums and new ways of self-expression is an ongoing process. And what excites me most is that the concept of discovery is boundless.
